This sun-soaked watercolor of the Greek island of Oia is an absolute treasure. Because Yao paints her illustrative architecture freehand, a painting largely made up of white shapes requires her to paint the darker colors around the white parts to give them form. It is a tricky method that pushed her technical abilities, but it achieves a distinctive charm that cannot be replicated by digital methods.
