This painting is a mosaic of many different inspirations—kaleidoscopes, science, movement, geometry. It came to Yao one day when she stumbled upon an image of a gemstone that is shaped like an egg. Imbued with many different hues of violet and blue, the gemstone sparkled and moved in a way that fascinated her. 'Mosaic' is her imagining of this gemstone as it shifts, blooms and twirls in space.
