She is mesmerized by the ripples of water—the rhythm, the continual change, and the way they intersect with other ripples nearby. "Rainbow Swirl No. 1" is a reimagining of this phenomenon but with painted circles added in. She imagines them as tiny droplets, swirling around a center point. Rainbows of color are used here to also create depth- they are like the rings of ripples that radiate outward.
